About Tony Petrello And His Philanthropic Activities

Antony Petrello joined Nabors Industries located in Hamilton Bermuda in 1991 as a chief operating officer, and he is currently serving there as the chief executive officer, chair of the board and the president.

He attended Yale and Harvard Universities where he acquired J.D degree and MS and an MS degree in Mathematics respectively. Petrello began his professional career at the Baker and McKenzie law firm in 1979. He went on to become the managing partner of the firm from 1986 to 1991.

Tommy Tune, who is a Broadway celebrity recently received a big welcome back to his hometown in Houston by Tony and his wife, Cynthia. For the welcoming party, Tony and Cynthia had invited at least 50 of their friends together with their Shadyside Estate advisory board members. Tune was in Houston to perform to his 5,000 hometowns biggest fans at the Miller Outdoor Theater an even dubbed ‘Tommy Tune Tonight’. At the Petrello cocktail party, Tommy had an opportunity to tower over guests, enjoyed Houston’s pleasant weather offered by a walk through the Shadyside’s well-maintained grounds and having a great of the view of Petrello outdoor bunnies.

Tony grew from a humble setting, and this makes him understands the hardships people go through to acquire education. He was a beneficiary of a full scholarship for his college education. To help other students from modest homes get access to education, he founded Yale Scholarship. The scholarships support intelligent students from poor backgrounds access college education and use them to make their lives better.

Petrello Help after the Hurricane Harvey
Anthony Petrello helped his employees and the Houston community during the Hurricane Harvey. For his workers to recover from the hurricane, Nabors Industries Limited gave them a paid time off to help the hurricane victims. They offered hands-on relief through the Nabors relief fund, and they did set up an onsite Kitchen to offer hot meals thrice each day to the hurricane-affected families.

Tony and Cynthia daughter Carena was born with the Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL) that led to the development of cerebral palsy. The health of their daughter encouraged them to work closely with the Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute and Texas Children Hospital. They collaborate with these institutions through donation and leading the organizations’ fundraising efforts to help find the answers to this problem. The Dan Duncan institute researches, develop and test neurological childhood disorders.
